Right now, LabMap focuses on Health & Life Sciences. If your field isn’t included yet, you can suggest it — we’re planning to expand based on user demand.
Where does LabMap get its lab information from? Is it up to date?
LabMap uses data from OpenAlex, based on recent scientific publications. We update lab profiles regularly. If you see an error — like a duplicate or a wrong author — you can report it, and we’ll fix it in the next update.
Which labs are included in LabMap?
LabMap includes all the labs in Health & Life Sciences. A lab appears if its lead researcher (PI) has 3 or more last-author papers in the past 5 years.
Is LabMap free?
Yes, LabMap is free to use. We don’t charge for any features or data. While premium functionality might be included in the future, the main search feature will always remain free.
